Rock Crystal Quartz (pictured at the top of this page) is one of the most common minerals found in the world. Hexagonal prisms are generally formed with pyramid shaped ends. The name Quartz originates from the Greek word “krustallos” which means ice, as it was once thought in ancient times that quartz was ice rock created by the Gods.
